Dr. Anthony E. Ladd, professor of sociology, was awarded the Excellence in Research Award for the College of Social Sciences for 2009.

Dr. Ladd recently published a review of Transforming Environmentalism: Warren County, PCB's, and the Orgins of Environmental Justice by Eileen McGurty in a 2009 issue of the journal Environmental History.

In April 2009, Dr. Ladd presented a paper entitled: "University Recovery and Resilency in New Orleans: Lessons from Hurricane Katrina and Gustuv" at the Southern Sociological Society in New Orleans.
