Graduating Senior-classman Alexander Fournet will be presented the Reverend Karl Rahner, SJ, Award for the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in the Department of Religious Studies for the 2010-11 school year. The Honors Convocation will take place Friday, May 13th, 2011 at 11am in Roussel Hall.
Mr. Fournet will graduate with a double-major in International Business and Religious Studies, with a minor in French. He has worked as the Editor-in-Chief of Loyola's student newspaper, The Maroon, since 2009. He managed Loyola’s student-run radio station, Crescent City Radio, in the Spring of 2008 and served as the Honors Floor Resident Assistant from 2008-2010. In addition to his involvement in the Loyola Economics Club, the Loyola Society for Civic Engagement, and the Student Government Association, Alex also put in long hours living and working on a barge in Houma, LA, this summer, sometimes spending up to 16 hours a day skimming oil after the BP spill.
