Dr. McHugh’s Science in Context (online) Astronomy class had an in-person observing night. Although it was a bit cloudy, the rooftop deck of Monroe Hall permitted some nice views of the Moon (almost at the first quarter) and Jupiter (along with the four Galilean moons Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto) using the Physics Department’s 11 inch reflector telescope. The pictures of the Moon and Jupiter were taken with a phone through the eyepiece, and so only gives an idea of the full image quality of this telescope.
