Wild about Science

The outreach event we participated in last week took place at Lake Forest Charter School at 12000 Hayne Blvd in New Orleans East.  The event--Wild
About Science--is Lake Forest's annual science-themed event designed to promote student interest in the natural sciences.  Loyola students Emily
Reynolds (Physics), Dustin Lindberg (Physics), Douglas Alexander (Physics), Beth Cook (Spanish Language & Cultures), Jess Harrell (Biology), and Monica Ohakwe (Psychology) participated in the event by performing physics demonstrations.  Other presenters included the American Red Cross, Audubon Zoo, and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.  Of all the demonstrations, the kids seemed to enjoy the rotating stool and Van de Graaff generator the most.
