Prof. Armin Kargol works with researchers from Catholic University of Brescia on computational biophysics

Prof. Armin Kargol has visited the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the Catholic University of Brescia, Italy. He presented a seminar titled "In silico meets in vitro. The case of ion channels". This visit was part of a continuing research collaboration with Profs. Fausto Borgonovi and Luca Celardo from the Quantum Biology group at the Catholic University. The research project involves numerical simulations and theoretical analysis of noise-induced phenomena in ion channels in cellular membranes. A new paper "Focusing in multiwell potentials: Applications to ion channels" authored by L. Ponzoni (Sissa, Trieste), L. Celardo, F. Borgonovi (Catholic University Brescia), L. Kaplan (Tulane) and A. Kargol recently appeared in Physical Review E.
