Loyola graduate goes to work for Fermilab.

Emily Drabek, a May'09 physics graduate, started working as a research assistant at Fermilab. She will attend the University of Chicago in Astrophysics/Cosmology.

At Loyola Emily participated in research on General Relativity and Cosmology, directed by Prof. Carl Brans. In summer 2008 she attended a summer Research Experience for Undergraduates program at the University of Chicago, where she worked on a project to study the variability of quasar absorption lines. Starting in her junior year, Emily was awarded a Clare Booth Luce Scholarship for her undergraduate studies. She is the winner of the department’s Karl A. Maring Award and the recipient of the Rev. Francis A Bendetto, S.J., Award for Physics.
