Hiram Mechling received a nomination from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) to attend the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP15) in Copenhagen in Dec. 2009 as an observer. He writes about his experience at COP15 in his blog http://www.hirammechling.blogspot.com/ .

Hiram is a '04 graduate of the Physics Pre-Engineering program. Currently he is a M.Sc. student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington. He received a Valle Scholarship to study wind energy at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Lyngby, Denmark, where he is now a guest student.
