Sofia Riggio
Sofia Riggio has extensive and diverse experience teaching language and music to students of all ages. After full immersion in Italy in 2015, Sofia never lost fluency of the Italian language. In Italy, she periodically taught English to middle school students, and was an Italian tutor for Loyola as well as an embedded assistant for Dr. Naomi Yavneh’s Intermediate Italian course. She has also provided translation services to Italian music programs, and recently received her graduate degree in music from Loyola. Her aim in the classroom is to effectively teach material that demystifies the language learning process and create an environment in which students feel comfortable taking risks.
