The Center is known for its strategic communication work, including design, branding and public relations campaigns on behalf of some of New Orleans’ best known nonprofits. A partial list of those organizations includes the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Covenant House, March of Dimes and the Felicity Street Redevelopment Organization. “Valerie will help make the Center become a model for nonprofits everywhere,” said School of Mass Communication Director and Professor Dr. Sonya F. Duhe who made the announcement. “She provides both the dynamism and deep knowledge of communication skills that’s so essential to the post. Our non-profit partners and our students benefit from her energy.” Since its founding in 1997 the Shawn M. Donnelley Center has helped more than 200 nonprofits by offering students an opportunity to assist organizations with advertising and promotional campaigns, providing services as simple as the design of a flyer, or as complex as an integrated communications campaign.
