A native of Gonaives, a city in the Department of Artibonite, Pierre maintains close link to his homeland. He serves as a string for Inter Press Service (IPS) since 2007 and is a frequent contributor to Haiti Liberte, a Brooklyn-based Haitian newspaper. He has also co-founded and contributes to HaitiAnalysis.com, a young journalists' collective. At Loyola, Pierre works for the Maroon, the award-winning weekly student paper.
