A writer for the prize-winning student newspaper The Maroon, Jamie Futral says the exprience changed her outlook on the future and shaped her career choice. Maroon adviser Michael Guisti was a great mentor. Futral feels the SMC and its professors have much to offer students. "Get involved, and those experiences can only benefit you in the end," she says.
In fact her training in journalism helped her gain the confidence to get a job right after walking through Loyola's doors. Futral is currently working at Andry Law Group in New Orleans as a legal assistant and will be applying to law school in the near future. She feels the SMC prepared her well for her first professional job.
When Futral's not working or studying for the LSATs, she can be found at her at her two favorite restaurants: The Boucherie or the Avenue Pub. How's the view look to this ambitious graduate? So far so good.
