Ophelia Battle is an advertising major and graphic design minor who was a part of Rebirth Advertising, a team winning a student Gold Addy and Best of Show at the Ad Club of New Orleans annual Addy Gala recently. The team developed a $100 million campaign for Nissan North America as part of the American Advertising Federation's annual Ad Team competition. Not only was Ophelia strategic and creative, she also stood out as a star presenter when she pitched the campaign to Nissan executives in Nashville, Tenn. The campaign took fourth place in districts largely due to Ophelia and her colleagues' successful pitch. This year Ophelia is the creative director for the student ad team. The team is creating a $10 million fully integrated marketing communication campaign for Glidden paint and Wal-Mart.
In the fall of 2010 Ophelia placed first for a logo she designed for the Aging Means Business Student Ad Competition. In 2011, Ophelia was selected as Donnelley Center staff member where she currently works. Her team completely revamped the Donnelley Center. They created a new mission statement, logo, and even developed a workshop series. Ophelia was on a panel at the 2012 national conference of bar foundations on how to market yourself as a nonprofit. She won the Birmingham Bar Foundation over and landed an internship. She wrote press releases, helped create a new mission statement, helped with event planning, day to day office duties, transcription of minutes from board of directors meetings and created the theme and accompanying events for the association's 50th civil rights movement commemoration: Journey for Justice.
