North Central Sociological Association's Scholarly Award Committee has named Dr. Talukdar's co-authored paper, "Gender, Class Aspirations, and Emerging Fields of Body Work in Urban India," published in Qualitative Sociology, as the Best Article of 2013. The award will be given on Friday, April 11th 2014 at the association's annual meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio.
