For the second consecutive season, Loyola University New Orleans basketball player and Spanish major, Matt McCabe, has been named to the NAIA Men’s Basketball Daktronics Scholar-Athlete list.
McCabe, a senior guard from Mount Pleasant, Iowa, appeared in 24 games for the Wolfpack including two starts. McCabe, majoring in international business and Spanish, will receive his degree in May.
In all, 67 men’s basketball players were named 2009-10 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Loyola was one of 18 schools that featured more than one player, and this season marks the fifth straight year the team has had at least two players on the list. In order to be named to the Scholar-Athletes list, a player must be at least a junior in academic standing and maintain a 3.5 grade point average.
