Jonathan Lucio(Physics/Pre-Engineering '13) spent the past summer working in the geothermal power plant in Northern California called "The Geysers" as a chemical engineering intern. He says" I've been making sure the steam is scrubbed corrosive hydrogen chloride before getting to the turbines. Also, I've also been calculating steam enthalphy and superheat and doing an energy balance around the plant to find the max energy output." As part of the dual degree program, Jonathan will receive both a Physics degree from Loyola and a Chemical Engineering degree from Tulane University.
