Who's your ADDY? SMC Students bring home the gold

Senior Ophelia Battle and sophomore Graham Blackall bring Madison Avenue to the bayou, winning big at this year’s Advertising Club of New Orleans ADDY Awards.  Battle submitted her logo in the self-promotion category which earned Gold and Best of Show in the student category; and a brochure for her Donnelley Center for Non-Profit Communications client The New Orleans Council on Aging (NOCOA) won silver.

“Winning a Gold ADDY was a sign that I am leaving Loyola with the skills to produce great work,” said Battle. This is her second Gold Addy and second Best of Show for this competition. Blackall won a Gold Addy for his fashion/foodie blog Glazed and Confused. Gold entries move on to regional competition and if they win again, will advance to nationals in Boca Raton, Florida.

Both Battle and Blackall will be competing this April in the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition. The two expressed excitement over their accomplishments and are determined to grab the district title in April. The Team is working on a $10 million pitch to Mary Kay Cosmetics.
