Telemundo anchor and Loyola mass communication alumna Maria Celeste Arrarás co-anchored Republican debate

Maria Celeste Arrarás '82, an anchor at Telemundo, co-moderated the CNN-Telemundo's Republican debate Thursday, February 25, 2016.

This was Arrarás' second time hosting a presidential debate. She previously moderated a 2004 Democratic presidential debate. Arrarás focused on issues facing Texas and southern states as well as the Latino community.

Arrarás is a Puerto Rican bestselling author and Emmy award winning television journalist that hosts the Spanish language news magazine program, Al Rojo Vivo, and also co-anchors Telemundo's internationally acclaimed newscast, Noticiero Telemundo.

Between her two live television news shows, she is watched daily by approximately 35 million viewers across the American Hemisphere. She has been featured on the cover of Newsweek magazine as one of the Women Leaders of Her Generation and has been in the cover of People en Español 14 times.
