Loyola SMC professor Valerie Andrews was named Educator of the Year by the New Orleans Chapter of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana.  She will now compete at the state level.

The Educator of the Year Award was established to recognize an educator who has taught public relations or a closely-related discipline and who has demonstrated a commitment to advance the profession of public relations.

Andrews joined the SMC faculty in 2007 in the public relations and advertising sequences.  She is also the director of the Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications.

Loyola SMC professor Dr. Cathy Rogers also received this prestigious award back in 2012.
