A. Louis Read Distinguished Professor in Communication and Director for the Center For the Study of New Orleans Leslie G. Parr, Ph.D., will travel to France in November to speak at Aix Marseille University about photojournalism coverage of Hurricane Katrina.

Dr. Parr will be a keynote speaker at the international symposium titled "New Orleans: The Misfit City."

She will join educators from Louisiana and France as they explore New Orleans traditons, photography, music and history.

Dr. Parr's keynote address will focus on how newspaper photojournalists covered Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent damage and rebuilding of the city.
