Dr. Cathy Rogers promoted to Professor

Dr. Cathy Rogers was promoted to Professor by the Loyola University New Orleans Office of the Provost. Rogers' promotion is based off a reccommendation from the School of Mass Communication and College of Social Sciences Rank and Tenure Committee and Dean Luis Miron of the College of Social Sciences.

Since joining the Loyola faculty in 1990, her work with students in a prestigious national public relations competition has placed the School of Mass Communication in the national spotlight. Of Loyola’s 13-year participation in the Bateman Case Study Competition sponsored by the Public Relations Student Society of America, Dr. Rogers’ students have earned national recognition every year. Four of those years, her teams placed first in the competition.

"In addition to being a supportive colleague and thoughtful sequence director, Cathy Rogers is an inspiration to all of us in the School of Mass Communication," said Assistant Professor Valerie Andrews.

Dr. Rogers earned her Ph.D. in journalism and mass communication from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University where she also earned a certificate from the Contemporary History Institute.
