Internships

Thinking outside the classroom

Our students are often able to do an internship for class credit, applying the language they have studied to a working environment. The normal internship consists of 120 hours work for 3 credit hours, usually with an accompanying journal or other written work.

Other past internships include area elementary and middle schools (Audubon French-American School, Metairie Park Country Day, Chalmette Middle School), or an internship abroad.

The French Ministry of Education offers English assistant posts in French schools to graduates or undergraduates majoring in French. For more information: www.frenculture.org.
