Michaela Kametani-Rider awarded a 2012 Sigma Delta Pi Undergraduate Study Abroad Award

Michaela Kametani-Rider, 2012 graduate with a double major in Spanish and Philosophy, was awarded a 2012 Sigma Delta Pi Undergraduate Study Abroad Award. She was one of only 10 awardees from across the United States. Her letter of award states the following: "On behalf of the Executive Committee of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected to receive a summer scholarship for study in Alcalá de Henares, Spain at the Instituto Franklin-Universidad de Alcalá de Henares for four weeks in July 2012. This award includes the cost of registration, tuition and a stipend that may be used for transportation or other purposes related to this scholarship. ¡Enhorabuena!"

Michaela was the president of the Loyola chapter of the Sigma Delta Pi honor society her senior year. She completed a Master of Arts degree from Boston College in 2014.
