Guest speaker & moderator Lorena O’Neil is a freelance journalist based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her reporting focuses on stories that explore the intersection between identity, culture, race and gender. Her work has been featured in Rolling Stone, The LA Times, The Atlantic, Jezebel, Elle and Esquire among others.

Chief Devon Parfait is the current chief of the Grand Caillou/Dulac band of the Biloxi-Chitimatcha- Choctaw Tribe and a geoscientist who also works at the Environmental Defense Fund.

Elder Chief Shirell Parfait-Dardar is the former chief who mentored Devon and the current president of the First People’s Conservation Council (FPCC) of Louisiana.

Coastal climate scientist Dr. Alex Kolker is a professor at The Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON).
