Achievements

Christopher was a Biology graduate who conducted an UG Honors Thesis with Dr. David White, graduating in 2004. His thesis was his introduction to ecological research and landscape ecology that led him to a career as a research scientist. He went on to receive a Ph.D. and has developed as an outstanding wetland ecosystem ecologist. His just published paper in Nature Climate Change is an important contribution to our understanding of the roles of coastal wetlands in an age of global climate change.

Emmy Award-Winning Director of Gasland and How to Let Go to Discuss Environmental Justice at Loyola University New Orleans

The discussion will explore a variety of topics from what kind of policy is expected under the new presidential administration to ways in which the community can become better environmental advocates. Fox will guide attendees through these topics and answer questions about his films and the fight to improve environmental policy in this new era.

Dr. Barnes discussed climate change and the effects it could have on the world if it is ignored.     

Anthony Rizzi reported on his visit in Baton Rouge at the Public Hearing on the Bayou Bridge Pipeline.

The Public Hearing on the proposed Bayou Bridge Pipeline conducted by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District

The Foundations in Environmental Science and BioInquiry Poster Session. Held on Thursday, December 8,2016 on the 4th floor in Monroe Hall from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. There will be 20 research posters being presented by teams of students enrolled in these courses. The topics range from water chemistry in local aquatic systems and greenhouse plant growth to arthritis in humans.
