Loyola's S.E.E.D. Garden Supports Sustainable, Environmental, Educational, and Diversity Learning

In 2022, the Loyola S.E.E.D. Garden Beds were created through funding from the Loyola Mission Integration Grant with additional funding provided by Student Goverment Association Sustainability Committee. The gardens are used for many purposes including addressing food insecurity by providing fresh produce for Iggy's Cupboard, giving students the opportunity to understand local food systems, integrating hands-on learning experiences into Biology and Environment Program curriculum, benefit local ecosystems by planting native plants and providing a spot for relaxation and contemplation.
