Bryan Whittington from ENVA Class of 2017 just began his "dream job" at Audubon Zoo

Bryan Whittington from ENV Class of 2017. I just wanted to give the everyone an update on my life since graduation. You may recall that I did several internships in various departments at the Audubon Zoo throughout college. Not long after graduating, I accepted a position as a full-time zookeeper at the Baton Rouge Zoo in the Primates/Carnivores department. This was an awesome experience for me to begin my career in animal care. One of the highlights was working with two ornery cheetahs and training them from square one to receiving a voluntary injection.

Just three weeks ago I began my "dream job" of being a keeper at Audubon in the Louisiana Swamp/Jaguar Jungle department. The Environment program definitely helped me get this job as they were impressed with my knowledge of and dedication towards Louisiana culture and environment. It's been so rewarding getting to work with a huge variety of species from lizards and frogs to bats and armadillos to macaws and sloths to raccoons and otters to bears and jaguars... you get it.

I'm very proud of being able to finally achieve this goal of mine and very thankful of everyone who helped me along the way!
