Dr. Alicia Clay Jones is an Assistant IT Controller with GE Digital. She has over 18 years of experience in industry and government, developing and implementing standards as well as monitoring organizational compliance. Her areas of interest and expertise include information security policy and strategy, continuous monitoring, process improvement, and the development and implementation of national and international standards and guidelines in IT security. Prior to joining GE, Dr. Clay Jones spent 5 years with Booz Allen Hamilton in cybersecurity and 7 years developing standards and guidelines within the Computer Security Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). She is co-author to NIST Special Publication 800-137 Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations, a document at the foundation of the federal government's cyber security risk management transformation. Dr. Clay Jones spent 6 years with E. I. DuPont. There she became a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt by improving business and research processes in Central Research and Development. Dr. Clay Jones has always had a passion for science education and public understanding of science. This passion is now shared with students at Loyola taking courses such as Physics of Sound and Investigating Nature.
