Welcome to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Chemists and biochemists study molecules. Molecules make up practically everything around us and in us. So, in a way, chemists and biochemists study everything. And at Loyola, we undertake those studies with our undergraduate students by our sides.
Students in our department take advantage of several Bachelor of Science programs in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Forensic Chemistry. Loyola also offers a teacher education program for chemistry majors.
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to the mission of providing both a nationally competitive curriculum and a variety of exciting undergraduate research opportunities. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our students and their success.
As a result of our commitment to excellence, our department has experienced dramatic growth over the past decade and our graduates are being accepted into prestigious graduate and medical programs across the country. Please take a moment to learn about our four degree-granting programs as well as our undergraduate research opportunities.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the department or about career opportunities in the molecular sciences.
