Chemistry Student Accepted to Prestigious Ph.D. Program

Justin Romaire, graduated in 2013 with honors in chemistry and played four years of college baseball. He is currently working on complex molecule total synthesis and computational chemistry in Dr. Tim Newhouse's group at Yale. While he was a student at Loyola, he worked with Dr. C.J. Stephenson on the synthesis of chiral rhodamine B derivatives for the chiral detection of aminoalcohols. During the summer of 2011, he was chosen to participate in an NSF-REU program with Dr. Michael J. Krische at UT-Austin.
