Criminal Justice alumna manages federal investigations unit

Katrina Workman Berger '06 was named the Deputy Special Agent in Charge for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Office of Investigations in New Orleans, a division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. As the No. 2 for the New Orleans' Office of Investigations, Katrina oversees the daily operations of the 16 Resident Agent in Charge Office of Investigations offices in Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is responsible for a wide-range of investigations related to national security, smuggling and exporting of illegal arms, financial crimes, commercial fraud, human trafficking, narcotics smuggling, cyber crimes, child pornography/exploitation, and immigration fraud/identity theft.
