Political Science alumnus appointed Vice President and chief compliance officer for Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc.

Mr. Bobby D. Butler, Jr., A'90, is Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. based in Houston, Texas.  He is responsible for the Company's Global Corporate Compliance, International Audit and Government and Industry Affairs Departments.

Mr. Butler has extensive experience with compliance and international business issues and is a regular speaker on subjects such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ("FCPA"), global anti-bribery, business ethics, export controls, economic sanctions, anti-boycott, and the like.

Mr. Butler is the former Chairman of the Board of the International Compliance Professionals Association (ICPA) and a member of the Houston District Export Council.  In addition, he holds membership positions with the NBAA Regulatory Committee, the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the Greater Houston Business Ethics Roundtable, the American Bar Association and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is adjunct faculty with the University of Houston and Houston Community College. In addition, he serves on advisory boards for University of Houston's Supply Chain and Logistics Technology Degree Program and Houston Community College's Business Curriculum and Export Academy.

Mr. Butler is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional.  He earned a BA in Political Science from Loyola University New Orleans, A'90, and holds a Masters in Business Administration, '03 - International Business with honors from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas.

He also completed a fellowship from Loyola's Institute of Politics and attended the Concord School of Law.
