Political science alum working on a book about Latino representation in U.S. legislatures and Congress

Jason Casellas, A'99, is an associate professor of government in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. Casellas has been working on a book that examines Latino representation in U.S. legislatures and Congress.

After graduating from Loyola, Casellas earned a master of arts and doctorate at Princeton University. He was named the Samuel DuBois Cook Postdoctoral Fellow at Duke University for the 2007-2008 academic year.  He specializes in American politics, with specific research and teaching interests in Latino politics, legislative politics, and state and local politics at the University of Texas at Austin.
