Loyola alumnus appointed chair of Chicano/a Studies

Gary Segura '85 was appointed professor of political science and chair of Chicano/a Studies in the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity at Stanford University.  

Among his recent accomplishments, he also became president of the Midwest Political Science Association for 2009-2010.

Professor Segura's work focuses on issues of political representation, and the accessibility of government and politics to America's growing Latino minority, as well as a book-length project on the links between casualties in international conflict and domestic politics.
