Loyola alumna is commander of the 944th Mission Support Group at Luke Air Force Base

Colonel Anne B. Gunter, A'87, is the commander of the 944th Mission Support Group, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. As commander, she oversees support planning and resource management activities for an 850-person fighter wing, to include 555th Red Horse Squadron at Nellis AFB. She leads, directs and manages four squadrons/flights, with more than 300 assigned personnel with the following responsibilities: civil engineering, explosive ordnance disposal, readiness, fire protection, supply, transportation, fuels, logistics readiness, security and law enforcement, combat arms, military personnel, family readiness, lodging and food service support, mortuary affairs, communication and information systems, and computer support.

Colonel Gunter was commissioned in 1988 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Tulane University, New Orleans, La. Prior to assuming her current position, she was the Deputy Director, A1, Manpower, Personnel and Services at Fourth Air Force. Colonel Gunter is a traditional reservist at the numbered Air Force and a federal civil service employee with the Warfighter Readiness Research Division of the Air Force Research Laboratory in Mesa, Ariz.
