Longtime political science professor honored for teaching

Dr. Edward Renwick was presented the "Professor of the Year" Award at the 2009 College of Social Sciences Honors Convocation. Dr. Renwick retired from the Department of Political Science in Spring 2009.

In addition to his teaching and advising responsibilities, Dr. Renwick served as a member of the University Honorary Degrees Committee, a board member of the Lindy Boggs National Center for Community Literacy, and he was a member of the Steering Committee for Loyola’s Centennial Campaign.

Dr. Renwick served as the director of the Institute of Politics for more than 35 years, running the annual seven-month, 20-session seminar program, and spearheading the organization's annual fundraising event.

In addition to his regular appearances as a political analyst on WWL-TV Channel 4, Dr. Renwick gives many interviews each year on political analysis of state and local elections.
