Sean Cain, Ph.D., assistant professor of political science, was awarded a Marquette New Faculty Fellowship Award for the summer of 2010. The Marquette Fellowship supports new faculty members for their full-time work on scholarly projects. Dr. Cain won the award for "If You Build It, They Will Come: The Strategic Choices of Candidates, Consultants, and Contributors in U.S. House Elections."
Prof. Cain teaches courses on American government and politics, political behavior, elections, public policy, and research methodology. His research focuses on American election campaigns, campaign finance policy, and the professional campaigning industry. Dr. Cain received his Ph.D. from the University of California San Diego and has taught at George Washington University, the University of Maryland, and the American University School of Public Affairs prior to coming to Loyola.
