Rick Parrish, A'98, taught at Loyola University New Orleans, as visiting assistant professor, while earning his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. He then went on to be assistant professor of political science at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.
In 2006 Dr. Parrish authored a book entitled "Violence Inevitable: The Play of Force and Respect in Derrida, Nietzsche, Hobbes, and Berlin." He has also authored several articles, his most recent entitled "Silk Road Studies in the Political Science Classroom", which appears in an edited volume published by SUNY Press. "Teaching the Silk Road", (SUNY Press, 2010), includes great historical, pedagogical, and artistic information.
Currently Rick Parrish, Ph.D., works as an Independent International Affairs Consultant in Washington, D.C.
