Ms. Dequair has 11 years of military service and her current rank is Staff Sergeant.  She has mantained her outstanding academics while serving in the military reserve, working full-time for the Army Corps of Engineers and raising her two children.

In the future Ms. Dequair plans to pursue a Juris Doctorate Degree.  She ultimately hopes to serve as a Louisiana State Representative, or State Senator, and spearhead educational opportunity programs for African Americans and single-parents.
