Achievements

Dr. Anthony Ladd's article, "Feedlots of the Sea: Movement Frames and Activist Claims in the Protest Over Salmon Farming in the Pacific Northwest," appears in the November 2011 issue of Humanity and Society.

Dario El-Badry '09 recently accepted a job teaching English and Reading to children in Bangkok.

Dr. Kathleen Fitzgerald presented a paper at the Association for Humanist Sociology Annual Meetings held October 12 - 16, 2011 in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Talukdar presented at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association, which was held from August 20th - 23rd in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dr. Anthony Ladd presented a paper entitled: "No Nukes! Putting the Nuclear Genie Back in the Bottle After Fukushima" at the Association for Humanist Sociology meetings, which were held October 12th - 16th, 2011 in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Ladd awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award for the College of Social Sciences.

Megan Irving and Max Ciolino were awarded Sociology departmental awards at the College of Social Sciences Honors Convocation.

Dr. Fitzgerald presented a paper at the Midwest Sociological Society Annual Meeting in St. Louis, MO.

Dr. Anthony Ladd's article "Pandora's Well: Hubris, Deregulation, Fossil Fuels, and the BP Oil Disaster in the Gulf" has been accepted for publication in American Behavioral Scientist.

Dr. Parham to join the Institute for Advanced Study's School of Social Science for the academic year 2011-2012.
