Timothy C. Cahill is an Assistant Professor specializing in the religious traditions of South Asia. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995 for research on Jagannatha Panditaraja, a 17th century devotional poet. Dr. Cahill's interest in India was spurred by three years of study at Andhra University in South India. After completing diplomas in Telugu and Sanskrit he began graduate work in Indology with an emphasis on grammar, religious poetry and early Hindu traditions. He taught at the University of Iowa, Lehigh University and the University of Pennsylvania before coming to Loyola. His recent publication is titled An Annotated Bibliography of the Alamkarasastra .
