Achievements

For the 2011 summer, Joshua Muller is working for Governor Jindal's office.

Colonel Anne B. Gunter is the commander of the 944th Mission Support at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona . As commander, she oversees support planning and resource management activities for an 850-person fighter wing.  

At the 2011 College of Social Sciences Honors Convocation Latoya Dequair was awarded the Outstanding Academic Achievement and Community Service Award. This award is presented to the graduating senior with the highest record of academic achievement and community service. 

With questions surrounding U.S. involvement in the Libyan conflict, Professor Conrad Raabe, who specializes in foreign policy issues, sits down with Dennis Woltering.

To be eligible for the NAIA Scholar-Athlete Award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Betina Cutaia Wilkinson, Ph.D., SS'04 has a forthcoming article in the Social Science Quarterly titled "Divided Loyalties? Understanding Variation in Latino Attitudes toward Immigration."

Peter Burns, professor of political science, participated in a forum to discuss the post-Katrina change to the New Orleans public education system hosted by The Louisiana Society for Civic Engagement.

Rico Alvendia, A'94, graduated with high honors from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. At the same time, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves. 

Political science majors met with New Orleans officials to present their policy brief entitled "Blight Busting Strategies in New Orleans, Louisiana."

Rick Parrish, A'98, taught at Loyola University New Orleans, as visiting assistant professor, while earning his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004.
