Achievements

Ms. Monique Gougisha-Doucette joined Ogletree Deakins in 2009.  She practices primarily in the area of employment litigation and represents management in claims arising under Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, as well as other federal and state employment laws.

Daniel Cornejo is currently the Program Coordinator for the Teaching Excellence Network (TEN) at the Institute for Sustainable Economic, Educational and Environmental Design (I-SEEED). At I-SEEED, Daniel is engaged in research and development on issues including teacher quality, teacher professional development, and educational equity. Daniel started his career as a 4th and 5th grade teacher in the predominantly Latina/o Brentwood neighborhood of Southwest Denver where he developed a love of teaching.

John V. Quaglino, S'90, currently works as a general liability attorney with Juge, Napolitano, Guilbeau, Ruli & Frieman located in Metairie, Louisiana.

He received a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University in 1990. J.D. from the Louisiana State University Law Center in 1993. Mr. Quaglino served as a Staff Attorney for both the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Gerardo Lopez, Professor and Associate Director of Research for the Institute for Quality and Equity in Education, was recently nominated as the new Associate Director for the UCEA Barbara Jackson Scholars.

In November, 2012 Dwayne Fontenette joined James Carville, Mary Matalin, Kiki McLean, Brendan Daly, Whit Ayres, Ainsley Fagan, Margaret Hoover and Tom Fanning at Tulane’s Annual Political Summit.

Dwayne is a senior at Loyola University New Orleans double-majoring in Political Science and Mass Communication.

Lopez, G.R., Lopez, M.N., & Lopez, C.L. publish book chapter entitled "Se hace el camino al andar/We make the road by walking: Ruminations on work, love, and struggle in a Latino academic household."

On November 6, 2012, election day, Dr. Sean Cain will present his research entitled "Better Know a District: Population Change, Pollsters, Parties, and Political Representation in the 2010 U.S. House Elections."

On Friday, October 26, 2012 POLS Major, Martin Quintero, prepared Venezuelan cuisine for an International Student Association (ISA) event. The ISA is an organization that works to foster cultural understanding, combat stereotypes and promote diversity on Loyola's campus.
