Physics Department welcomes a new faculty member. Dr. Valery Rousseau joins us as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Dr. Rousseau studied physics and mathematics at the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis (France). He did postdoctoral work at the University of California, Davis, at the Lorentz Institute of the University of Leiden (The Netherlands), and at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He brings to Loyola an expertise in computational physics and his research is focused on the study of strongly correlated systems such as in condensed matter and ultra-cold atomic gases on optical lattices. Dr. Rousseau's research record includes several publications in Physical Review Letters - one of the most prestigious scientific journals in physics.
Dr. Rousseau replaces Dr. Katja Schaefer who left Loyola for an Assistant Professor position at the University of North Georgia.
