Dr. Mohajer joined the full time faculty of Loyola University New Orleans in the Fall of 2019 as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He previously taught mathematics at Tulane University; at The University of Illinois at Chicago, where he earned his PhD in Mathematics in 2018; and at The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. Dr. Mohajer’s research interest is in sphere packing, and his recent work is on obtaining upper density bounds for binary packings of disks in the plane. His research is inspired by chemical phenomena, and he makes use of computer simulations for experimentation and exploration. Prior to his pursuit of mathematics, Dr. Mohajer had a long career in technology consulting and management.
