ENVA's Hilary Nguyen has recently been accepted into the CRCL (The Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties) Future Coastal Leader Program. This program aims to connect local college students to our coast and the communities fighting to save it, and provide a better understanding of local and state restoration.

ENVA's Dr. Frank Jordan, chair of Biological Sciences and director of the Fish Slayer Laboratory at Loyola, provided expert advice to the Times-Picayune on the effect that biocontamination has on catfish in the Mississippi river, and whether they are safe to eat or not.
Congratulations to our Alumni Bryan Whittington and Destiny Karash-Givens! They have recently been employed at Tulane University as program managers. They get to do fun things like new student orientation, programs/event management, and helping freshman get acclimated to their new life on campus. Taiyah Murphy ENVH’24 recently completed a Sustainability Leaders Workshop through Bard University. The C2C Fellows Network, is a program offered through the Graduate Programs in Sustainability at Bard College in New York. It is an international network for undergraduate and graduate students aspiring to leadership work in sustainable politics, NGO’s and business.
C2C stands for Campus to Community, and to Companies, to Congress, to Corporations, to Capitol, or to City Hall.
Environmental Law chair Rob Verchick has launched a new podcast called "Connect the Dots." He hosts engaging and accessible discussions with top policy experts, helping listeners relate new developments in climate change to real issues in their lives.
Catch Dr. Bob and Dr. Aimée Thomas on their new podcast "The Southern Naturalist" with Louisiana PBS. The series follows their exploration of wild areas of Louisiana and their conversations with fellow scientists and naturalists along the way.
Dr. Aimée Thomas was invited to speak as a panelist at the LSU Dellinger Symposium on February 23, 2022. The title of her talk was "Addressing environmental issues, racial inequities, and injustices in New Orleans."
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Sitzman is a scholar-athlete devoting much of her time to swimming and in the classroom as an Environmental Studies (Social Sciences) scholar. In her role as a NOAA Intern this summer, she will turn her passion for the environment, specifically anything related to weather, water, and climate, into purpose and advance her leadership skills. She is currently also serving as a Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana student ambassador and together with this internship, will develop her Environment Program thesis capstone experience.
