This summer Christopher Schaberg, in collaboration with Ian Bogost of Georgia Tech, launched a new book and essay series called Object Lessons, published by The Atlantic and Bloomsbury.

Dr. Anthony Ladd, Professor of Sociology, recently had an article accepted for publication in the Journal of Rural Social Sciences.

A story written by Loyola University New Orleans student journalist Shannon Donaldson detailing how college students are reaping the benefits of a booming Hollywood South film industry won national recognition May 1 in the Society of Professional Journalists National Mark of Excellence Awards. 

Professor Michael Kelly was invited to speak at the international conference "Nielsen Theory and related topics 2013," held in Daejon, South Korea.

Several graduates of the Department of Sociology were honored at the College of Social Sciences Honors Convocation on May 10, 2013.

Stella von Meer has been accepted to a PhD program in Dynamical Neuroscience at UC Santa Barbara. Stella graduated from Loyola with a major in Physics in 2007 and in 2010 she earned a M.Sc. degree in Medical Neuroscience from Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, Germany.
